Since I can’t seem to sit still for very long these days I hopped a flight out to SF to catch one of my favorite fairs, artMRKT San Francisco.

artMRKT has an uncanny ability to make you want to spend the day at their fairs and that’s just what my dear friend Mojdeh and I did. A glass of wine over looking the bay, a leisurely stroll among the galleries and a plethora of familiar faces made this trip out west more than worth it.

With a fresh mix of established and up and coming galleries, artMRKT seems to have found it’s sweet spot. Sales were rumored to be bountiful and attendance was through the roof. Opening night alone drew over 5,000 fair goers, forcing the organizers to halt admission and leaving a line of over 400 hungry for entry. This fair offers a certain elegance to the SF art scene that has long been underplayed and the city is clearly eager to embrace it .

Check out a few of the works we fell for at the fair by the bay…
